# Repo Agent Kit generator

The generator creates repository instruction files for Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. It runs in the browser and does not upload the project details entered into the form.

## Inputs

- Project name and purpose
- Primary stack and package manager
- The repository's real validation command
- Optional project-specific constraints
- Guardrails for scope, testing, accessibility, and documentation

## Outputs

- Codex: `AGENTS.md`
- Claude Code: `CLAUDE.md`
- Cursor: `.cursor/rules/project.mdc`
- GitHub Copilot: `.github/copilot-instructions.md`

The result can be copied or downloaded. Verify every generated command and path against the repository before committing it.

## GitHub CLI extension

Install the public extension once, then create an `AGENTS.md` from a bundled minimal, monorepo, Python, or Next.js template:

gh agents-md init
```

`init` does not contact Repo Agent Kit or collect telemetry, and it refuses to replace an existing file unless `--force` is explicit. `gh agents-md audit` and `gh agents-md generate` print repository-prefilled browser-tool URLs without opening them.
